For dog owners who want to turn nightmare walks into a more enjoyable experience for themselves and their dogs. This workshop is aimed at helping owners deal with problems such as excessive pulling on the leash, excessive sniffing, jumping on people when greeting, and getting up from sit-stays during walks without permission. You and your dog will learn basic on-leash skills such as heel and sit-stay. It is also a great opportunity for exposure to new environments, new people, and other dogs. __________ In this class, you will learn: 1. How to use positive reinforcement and food rewards with your dog. 2. How to work with a non-food motivated dog. 3. Leash handling and applying leash pressure as guidance and communication. 4. How to handle your dog when greeting people 5. How to handle your dog when passing other dogs. Most importantly, you will learn how to work with and train your dog to: 1. Walk nicely alongside you with a loose leash in public places. 2. Sit when told, while on a leash, with real-life distractions, in public places. 3. Pay attention & look to you more frequently during walks __________ Space is LIMITED! To provide the best service and attention to detail, there is a maximum of 8 dogs per class and 2 adults per dog. This 3-day workshop starts at 6 PM on September 6th, 7th & 8th Classes are 90 min. Class Location: Griffith Park, 4730 Crystal Springs Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027 __________ Who is the best candidate for this class? - Dogs that need to learn leash obedience and pull excessively. - Dogs over the age of 6 months - Dogs that are a bit unruly and overexcited - Dogs that do not listen to known commands - Dogs who need to learn basic leash skills _________ * Please note: >>>THIS IS NOT A BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION CLASS<<< If your dog exhibits any aggressive behavior, you may be asked to move further away from the group or to leave (without a refund) if it becomes disruptive to the group.
