Workshop Description
This 2-week group class meets twice per week for a total of 4 sessions. The class focuses on the fundamentals of obedience, leash handling, and clear communication between you and your dog. This class is perfect for owners who want more control, better communication, and a clear foundation before moving into advanced obedience or public training. We will cover the basic commands: Sit, Down, Come, and Place. All behaviors will be taught on leash, at a beginner level, in a controlled environment. The goal is to help you build a strong foundation before adding more distractions, freedom, or advanced expectations. In this class, you will learn: • Proper leash handling and how to use leash pressure as guidance • How to correctly use food rewards without becoming dependent on them • How to work with dogs who are not highly food motivated • How to use play as a training tool to reinforce obedience • How to apply obedience training at home • How to build structure, consistency, and follow-through • How to prepare for future advanced obedience classes Space is limited. To provide the best service and attention to detail, there will be a maximum of 10 dogs per class and 2 adults per dog. Class Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays at 6:30 PM June 20th, June 21st, June 27th, and June 28th Each class is 60-75 minutes. This class is a great fit for: • Dogs over 6 months of age • Dogs who are a bit unruly • Dogs who need basic obedience • Dogs who do not reliably listen to known commands • Dogs who need basic leash skills • Dogs who bite the leash • Dogs who jump on owners or guests • Dogs who only listen when food is visible Important Notice This is not a behavior modification class. Please do not sign up if your dog is younger than 6 months, human aggressive, dog aggressive, has attacked a person or dog, is uncontrollably reactive, or is terrified in public. If your dog displays behavior that is unsafe or too disruptive for the group setting, you may be asked to move farther away from the group or leave class for everyone’s safety. It is not our goal to ask anyone to leave. However, the safety and learning environment of the group must come first. If your dog is not a good fit for the group class, the remaining balance may be applied toward private training. After booking, you will receive an email with a detailed class schedule and a list of recommended training tools.
